As a teenager, I remember the isolation my grandmother suffered from a hearing impairment and how this affected not only her, but the family and friends around her. Witnessing her struggles was the main factor for pursuing my journey in Audiology.

After qualifying as an Audiologist in 1997, I realised how many people were suffering in silence like my grandmother. Inevitably, this became my goal – to help the hearing impaired achieve the best hearing possible with the hearing they have left. During my time as an Audiologist, I have been providing specialist private hearing care for thousands of residents in West & North-West London, working mostly with a national high street retailer. I have successfully improved the quality of life of these patients, as well as their loved ones. Within the last decade, I have been awarded “Highly Commended Winner” of the ‘Audiologist of the year’ competition.

My journey started some-what 20 years ago when I used to watch my father work from home. From a young age I aspired to follow his footsteps as an Audiologist. Through helping at the front desk at the various hearing clinics where my father was working to observing his day-to-day life as audiologist in clinics with patients, I developed a passion for delivering hearing care to individuals, improving their quality of life and strengthening communication with their loved ones. This led me to complete a BSc (Hons) at the UCL Ear Institute. 

With over 10 years experience in the audiology sector, I have worked within multi-disciplinary health care teams across both the NHS and independent clinics. During my experience of working with various health care professionals, my passion has grown to help patients live their best hearing life. No matter your age, ethnicity and gender, communication is key to living and improving the quality of ones hearing health is what being an audiologist is all about. Time, effort and care is imperative to understand every individuals needs and success in these qualities have allowed me to be chosen to mentor students and help them to graduate as audiologists. In addition, I have achieved certifications for passing two audiology audits, conducted by ‘The Health & Care Professions Council’, during my time in practice.
